The polycarbonate pro pourer in two lines
This is the polycarbonate pro pourer: a pour spout for spirits and liqueurs with a rubber base, a polycarbonate body and an air hole, in eight colours.
Who it is for
For bartenders who pour by count and want the measure to be the same every time. It is also the choice for bars with many bottles up front that need telling apart without reading the label.
Inner walls without flaws
It is the feature the maker puts first, and it has a practical reason: the liquid only touches the inner wall, and every roughness creates turbulence. Turbulence changes the flow, so two pourers that look identical can give different measures on the same count. Polycarbonate can be moulded with very even surfaces, which is why a polycarbonate pro pourer holds its own against metal models on precision.

Eight colours, and how they are really used
As a code. At a station with ten bottles in a row, the colour of the pourer is the fastest way to grab the right one: red is always the bitter, green always the syrup, and the hand learns before the eye. It also works to separate the bottles of two stations, or to mark those holding homemade preparations rather than shop-bought products. It is the same principle as colour-coded chopping boards in the kitchen.
The air hole
As liquid comes out, air comes in through the hole and stops the pressure dropping inside the bottle: without it, the flow stops and starts in gulps. A pour in gulps cannot be counted, and without a count a pourer is of little use.
The count, and how to calibrate it
Fill a bottle with water, fit the pourer and count while pouring into a jigger: repeat until the same count always gives the same volume. After ten tries the hand has learned, and from then on the measure is taken by time rather than by eye. Recalibrate whenever you change model, because every spout has its own flow, and with a polycarbonate pro pourer it is worth doing again after a drop.
Polycarbonate or metal
Polycarbonate costs less, does not pass the cold to the hand and comes in every colour; metal is stiffer and takes knocks better. The practical difference is a fall: a polycarbonate pourer that lands on the floor can crack, and a crack inside changes the flow even when it cannot be seen. Bartenders who work fast keep a few spares for exactly this reason.
Care
Soak in hot water at the end of service, rinse and dry. No harsh detergents on the rubber and no dishwasher, because heat hardens it. Rinse the spout carefully after sugary liqueurs, so the bore stays clear and the flow stays true.
FAQ
How many colours does the polycarbonate pro pourer come in? Eight, including clear and neon green.
Is it as precise as a metal pourer? Yes, because precision depends on the inner wall, which here is free of flaws.
Is it sold singly? Yes, the price is for one piece.
What are the colours for? Recognising the bottle without reading the label, like colour-coded chopping boards in the kitchen.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
