The Granity Frost plastic tumbler in two lines
The Granity Frost is a 290ml plastic tumbler in SAN polymer, with the frosted finish that gives the line its name. It is sold in packs of 8, stacked one inside the other, and made in the European Union.
Who it is for
For venues that serve away from the bar. A terrace on hard paving, a pool side, a beach, an event with a lot of people standing: these are the places where a dropped glass stops service, and in many of them glass is banned by the rules. 290ml is the size of a drink on the rocks with its ice, a juice or a soft drink.
At home it is the glass for the garden and for evenings with a lot of guests, when the good ones stay in the cupboard.

What SAN is, among plastic tumblers
SAN is a rigid polymer: harder than polypropylene, cheaper than polycarbonate. It holds like a glass and does not give under the grip, which is what separates a service glass from a party cup. A cup that bends says little care was taken even when it does not break, and a guest paying full price for a drink notices.
The Granity Frost is not clear like glass. The wall is frosted: it shows the colour of the drink and hides the marks of use.

Choose the Granity Frost if
You need a medium tumbler that can leave the venue without a second thought, and a frosted finish suits you. If the drink has to be seen through the glass, you need a clear model. If you need more capacity, the same line has a 400ml size.
The pack of eight
Eight stacked glasses take the shelf space of one. For a terrace it makes sense to count in packs: how many glasses cover the busy hours of a day outdoors without washing mid-service. Three packs are 24 glasses, five are 40.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
Why a frosted finish ages better
A glass that is carried outside, washed in a hurry and stacked picks up scratches and smears. On a clear wall they all show, and after a season the glass looks old. On a frosted wall they show far less. That is why so much catering stock is opaque or coloured.
Care
Wash with a mild detergent and a soft sponge, which keeps the finish even. If the dishwasher has a gentle programme for plastics, that is the one to use. Stack them dry, so they come apart easily.
Plastic tumbler FAQ
Is the Granity Frost clear? No, it is frosted: the colour of the drink shows, but the tumbler is not as clear as glass.
How much does it hold? 290ml.
Is it polycarbonate? No, it is SAN. Both are rigid, reusable plastic glasses: polycarbonate is clear and costs more, SAN is rigid and costs less.
Is it stackable? Yes, the glasses arrive already stacked in the pack of 8.
How many are in a pack? Eight. The price is for the pack.
Is it disposable? No, it is washed and reused: that is what sets it apart from a thin plastic party cup.
To choose between the sizes that stack, see the stackable glass guide.
