The 600ml Iron mixing tin in two lines
The Iron mixing tin is The Bars Iron Glass: a 600ml stirring vessel in AISI 304 stainless steel, double-walled, with a diamond pattern on the body and a lip for pouring. It comes in three finishes: matt black, Vintage and Tiffany. Inside, in all three, it is steel.
Who the mixing tin is for
For anyone who makes stirred drinks, Negroni, Manhattan, Martini, Old Fashioned, and wants a mixing glass that does not break. Glass at the bar has two weaknesses: it falls and chips, and it lets the cold escape through its walls. Double-wall steel has neither. The mixing tin sits in front of the guest for the whole stir, a good thirty seconds per drink, and it is the piece of the station people look at most.
At home it is the piece that makes the Negroni come out as it does at the bar: always the same cold, always the same dilution.

The double wall of the mixing tin, and what it changes in the stir
Between the two walls there is a gap. The cold of the ice stays inside and the warmth of the hand stays outside, so dilution depends on stirring time and not on how long the bartender holds the vessel. That is what makes a Martini repeatable: same seconds, same dilution, the same drink on the first round and the tenth. The outer wall does not mist up and the hand stays dry.
600ml holds two stirred drinks with their ice, the size of a double order. The lip lets you pour with the strainer in place, without dripping on the bar top.
Matt black, Vintage or Tiffany
Matt black: it does not throw back the spotlights and does not show fingerprints, for dark bar tops. Vintage: visible steel with an aged surface, for the American bar and the venue built on classics. Tiffany: aqua green, for the venue with a house colour. In all three the diamond pattern is the same, and it gives grip to the hand holding the vessel steady during the stir.

Choose the mixing tin if
You want a stirring vessel that does not break and holds the cold. You have already dropped a glass one during service. If you need clear glass so the drink can be seen while you stir, look at the rest of the category. The same mixing tin is in the 12 piece matt black cocktail set, the 12 piece Vintage cocktail making kit and the 12 piece Tiffany bartender set.
Stirring in the mixing tin, step by step
Fill it three quarters with ice, add the ingredients, and stir with the bar spoon, keeping the back of the bowl against the wall. Twenty or thirty turns are enough for a Negroni, a few more for a dry Martini. Then a Hawthorne or julep strainer on the rim, and pour from the lip into the chilled glass. When the bar is three deep, a vessel that does not slip and does not mist up is one less thing to think about.
More mixing tins for more stations
Every station that makes stirred drinks wants its own. The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
Care
Hot water, mild detergent and a soft cloth, then dry it upside down. The manufacturer does not declare whether it is dishwasher safe, so the careful route is washing by hand, and no scourer on the coloured finishes, which would scratch the colour.
