The aperitivo, in the glass

The Spritz and long drinks are built in the wine glass or the tumbler: the 30/60ml jigger for the base, the 45cm bar spoon for a single turn from the bottom, which does not knock the fizz out of the prosecco or the soda. The tray keeps the three jiggers in a row, always in the same spot on the bar top.

Sours and Margaritas, in the shaker

The Boston, 28oz and 20oz, seals well with ice and breaks with one sharp strike of the palm. The Hawthorne strains the drink into the glass. The 500ml cobbler, which strains through its cap, suits anyone working alone at a kiosk with one hand always busy. The 900ml Parisienne makes two drinks in the same shake when orders arrive in pairs.

Stirred drinks

For the Americano, the Negroni or a Martini on the late afternoon list there is the 600ml mixing tin, stirred with the bar spoon and strained with the Hawthorne. Outdoors it is safer than glass.

The pieces not in the bartender set

The fine strainer is missing, the fine mesh strainer needed to fine strain (double strain) sours made with fresh fruit. Also missing are a muddler for the Mojito and the Caipirinha, a julep strainer, pourers, ice tongs, glassware and a carry bag.

The jiggers are for cocktail specs, in 15ml steps: they are not stamped measures for single spirits, which in Great Britain are served in 25ml or 35ml.

How to keep the colour

The supplier does not declare whether it is dishwasher safe: we recommend washing by hand, with lukewarm water and mild detergent, and drying with a cloth straight after. No scourers and no abrasive products, which dull the coloured surface. Citrus juice is rinsed off at the end of each round, before it dries on the tin.
