The Ballon Gin plastic gin glasses in two lines
The Ballon Gin is an 860ml stemmed glass in clear Tritan, with the wide, round bowl of the gin and tonic served Spanish style. It is sold in packs of six. Goldplast declares it unbreakable and washable up to 350 times in a commercial glass washer.
The glass is 21.2cm tall. The bowl reaches 12cm at its widest point and closes to 8.9cm at the rim.
Who plastic gin glasses are for
For venues that sell the gin and tonic as their signature drink and want to serve it in a balloon away from the bar too: terrace, rooftop, pool side, beach club. The glass balloon is the biggest and most fragile glass on the back bar, and outdoors it breaks before the others.
For events and gin festivals, where hundreds of gin and tonics are served to guests standing. With Tritan gin glasses the one that falls is picked up and goes back in the rack.
At home it is the glass for a gin and tonic in the garden, when the crystal balloon stays in the cupboard.

Why the gin and tonic is served in a balloon
The wide bowl holds a lot of ice, which melts more slowly and dilutes the drink less. The rim, narrower than the belly, gathers the aromas of the gin and the garnish towards the nose. The long stem keeps the hand away from the ice.
The Tritan balloon keeps that shape. The guest gets the gin and tonic in the glass they expect, even sitting by the pool.
Tritan
Goldplast rates Tritan high transparency, free of bisphenol A and of formaldehyde. The peel, the juniper berries and the flowers of the garnish show as they would in a glass balloon. It takes up to 350 cycles in a commercial glass washer with liquid chlorinated detergent and neutral rinse aid.

860ml
860ml is the brim-full capacity. A gin and tonic with 50ml of gin, 200ml of tonic and ice up to half the bowl stays well clear of the rim: there is room for the garnish and for stirring with the bar spoon without spilling.
The pack of six
Plastic gin glasses are counted in packs: four are 24 glasses, the kit for a terrace for one evening. A reorder is the same item with the same code.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item. The discount applies automatically in the basket.
Care
In a glass washer with liquid chlorinated detergent and neutral rinse aid, as the maker indicates. No microwave and no oven. By hand, a soft sponge keeps the wall clear.
Plastic gin glasses FAQ
Are they glass? No. They are Tritan, a BPA free rigid plastic, as clear as glass.
How much ice fits? The 860ml bowl holds ice up to half with the drink on top, without reaching the rim.
Do they break if dropped? The maker declares them unbreakable: dropped, they do not shatter.
How many glasses are in a pack? Six. The price is for the pack.
