The eco wood bar caddy in two lines
A counter dispenser for straws and napkins in a composite that is 70 per cent wood, with a napkin bay of 120 by 120 millimetres.
Who it is for
For anyone putting it on the front of the bar, where the guest uses it. That is the only position in which a dispenser really pays, and it is also the position where the material shows.
It takes one request off the bar
That is its real job. With a dispenser on the front nobody has to ask for a straw or a napkin, and whoever is building drinks does not stop to hand them over: across a full evening that is dozens of small interruptions removed, each one costing more than the three seconds it looks like. The eco wood bar caddy exists to move that job from the bartender to the guest.

A hundred and twenty square is worth measuring first
It is the standard fold of a bar napkin, but not every napkin respects it: larger ones jam and smaller ones move about and come out two at a time. The check is done with one of the napkins you actually use, folded the way you serve it, before you order. It is the kind of ten second check nobody does.
Eco wood or plastic
Eco wood looks better on a bar that is on show and does not scratch visibly, so it ages more gracefully. Plastic costs less and stands up to frequent washing, and that is the choice if the dispenser gets washed often or if the bar is not on show. The question is where it sits and who looks at it, as with everything on the front.
Two hundred and sixty millimetres of bar top
That is the space it takes off the counter, and on a short front it wants counting. The caddy holds straws and napkins together, so it replaces two containers: the surface it uses is less than a straw holder and a napkin holder standing separately, which is a practical argument for anyone with a short front.
It gets filled before service
A half empty dispenser is worse than no dispenser, because the guest tries, finds nothing and asks anyway: the request comes back to the bar, now with a second of delay on top. Filling it belongs on the opening list along with ice and fruit, and on busy nights it wants checking again halfway through.
Care
Hand wash in warm water and dry fully. A composite that is 70 per cent wood does not belong in industrial dishwasher cycles, which warp it and take the shine off the surface. No scouring pads, which leave pale marks, and no harsh products on a front that is on show.
