The Melodia Martini is the V-bowl glass from RCR’s Melodia line: 210ml, 17cm tall, 11.2cm across the rim, in Luxion glass with the leaf and ray cut on the bowl and a worked knop on the stem. It is dishwasher safe. The pack holds six glasses, the unit in which the supplier sells it.
Who it is for
For the cocktail bar serving the Martini and its variations, the Vesper, the Gibson, the Dirty Martini, and strained short drinks: Cosmopolitan, Gimlet, Aviation. The V-shaped bowl of the Melodia Martini, and why
The wide, flared bowl exposes the drink to the air: the nose of the gin or vodka comes through at once, and a lemon twist expressed over the top is there on the first sip. A Martini is served without ice, so it has to be finished before it warms: the long stem keeps the hand away from the liquid. 210ml brim-full means a 90-100ml drink two fingers below the rim, which reaches the table without spilling.
The Melodia Martini is not the glass for drinks on ice or for bulky garnishes: for those there is the stemmed glass or the coupe from the same line.

Six glasses and the Melodia line
RCR sells the Melodia Martini in packs of six, and so do we. A bar with the Martini on the list keeps two packs: one round in service, one chilled and ready in the fridge.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
The same line includes the 160ml cocktail coupe, the 210ml stemmed glass, the 340ml old fashioned and the 360ml tumbler: the same cut from the bar to the floor. The line is a continuous range, so a broken glass is replaced with the same one.
Luxion glass
Luxion is RCR’s patented glass: clear, brilliant, it rings when tapped, it is recyclable, and it goes through the dishwasher without clouding. In the rack, tilt the V-shaped bowl so water does not pool at the bottom, and dry the glass straight away with a microfibre cloth.
How to serve in the Melodia Martini
Keep the glass in the fridge, or chill it with ice before pouring. Stir the drink in the mixing glass, strain it, and garnish with an expressed twist or an olive on a pick. In the Melodia Martini, service is always by the stem.
