The Kyoto Bar 190ml in two lines
The Kyoto Bar 190ml is a Nick & Nora glass with a thin profile, from the plain, Japanese-inspired line, sold in packs of six. 190ml is the upper limit of the shape, the point where it stops being a glass for stirred drinks only.
Who it is for
For bars that want the advantages of an inward-curving rim across the whole section of drinks served up. At 190ml it takes a stirred Martini or a Manhattan, but also a shaken Daiquiri of 120ml once finished, which in a 150ml glass would come too close to the rim. It is the Nick & Nora that covers the most recipes.
The thin profile, and what it means
The Japanese-inspired line goes for thin walls and a pared-back design, and on a stemmed glass that has two opposite consequences worth knowing. On one side, thin glass passes less heat by contact and gives a finer rim on the lip, which on a short, concentrated drink is a difference you notice. On the other, a thin glass is more delicate, and in fast service with commercial washing it needs more care than a thick-walled glass. That is the trade you accept when you buy fine glassware.

Choose the Kyoto Bar 190ml if
You want one small stemmed glass for the whole section served up, stirred and shaken together. If you serve only Martinis and Manhattans, a 150 or 160ml glass keeps them cold for longer still.
A thin rim and how the drink comes across
It sounds like a detail for enthusiasts, but it shows on the floor. A thick rim puts a wide surface between the lip and the liquid, and the first contact is with the glass; a thin rim lets the drink arrive first. On a short, strong cocktail, where every sip is small and concentrated, that changes the first impression. It is the same principle that gives tasting glasses a cut, flush rim, and it holds for any drink taken in small sips.
One glass for the whole section served up
For bars that want fewer lines in stock, the Kyoto Bar 190ml is the best compromise in the category: the inward-curving rim gives the advantages of the Nick & Nora, and 190ml takes the shaken drinks that would be at the limit in a 150ml glass. In practice one Kyoto Bar 190ml covers stirred and shaken drinks alike; only the salt-rimmed Margarita stays out, because it wants a wide rim.
Care
It can go through the dishwasher, but with a thin wall the rack needs more care than usual: glasses spaced out, no rims touching and nothing resting on top. Chill it in the freezer before service, avoiding the jump from cold straight into hot water.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
FAQ
Is the Kyoto Bar 190ml a Nick & Nora? Yes, in the largest size of the shape: the rim still curves inwards, but the volume covers shaken drinks too.
Is it fragile? It has thin walls, so it needs more care in the dishwasher than a thick glass.
Is it the same line as the Kyoto Bar tumblers? Yes, the same Japanese inspiration in different shapes.
Will a Daiquiri fit? Yes: finished, it is about 120ml, and in 190ml it fills the glass well without reaching the rim.
Can it be chilled in the freezer? Yes, but avoid taking it from cold straight into hot water.
