Who the Lumian bar mat is for
For bars that want a mat on show, one that settles onto the bar top instead of sitting stiff on it. It is made from soft rubber, measures 60 x 20cm and carries the Lumian logo.
Behind the bar
Soft rubber changes two things compared with a standard mat. The first is grip: being more flexible, it lies on the whole surface even when the bar top is not perfectly flat, without the lift at the corners that lets glasses on the edge slide. The second is noise: a glass put down on soft rubber does not make the sharp knock it makes on hard rubber.
The 60 x 20 format is the working size: deep enough for a shaker and a mixing glass, long enough to cover a whole station. The edge is where mats wear first, and it is reinforced here because the mat gets lifted every day.

Care
It stands up to high temperatures and is dishwasher safe. If you wash it by hand, rinse the underside as well and let it dry lying flat: being softer than other mats, it keeps a fold for days if rolled.
