The 35cm charcuterie board in two lines
The Kesper charcuterie board is a rectangular board in acacia wood, 35 x 18cm and 1.5cm thick. Without the handle, the usable surface is 27.5cm long. A leather strap runs through the handle to hang it up. It is sold singly.
Who it is for
For the wine shop and the wine bar with a board for two on the menu: it is the most frequent order beside two glasses. For the cocktail bar that offers a mixed plate of cured meats and cheese in the early evening in place of a buffet. For the wine bar with a cold kitchen, where the board is the dish and has to reach the table already arranged.
At home it is the board for drinks for two, or for four people if there is bread and olives beside it. When the evening is over it hangs up, and does not take up a drawer.

Why this charcuterie board is the size for two
The number that counts is the usable surface, not the overall length. On 27.5cm by 18 there is room for two rows of sliced meat and one of cheese, with space for a small bowl. It is the portion two people finish with a glass each, without half the board left empty and making the plate look thin.
The handle is for whoever serves. The server takes the board in one hand and carries the glasses or the bread basket in the other. Without a handle the same service needs a tray, or two trips.
The leather strap is for the end of the shift. Wood that is washed and stacked stays damp between one board and the next. Hung on a hook it dries in the air on both faces, and is ready for opening the next day.
Acacia has a contrasting grain, light and dark. Under a pink cured meat and a white cheese the wood acts as a background, and the plate reads even in low evening light.

How to arrange the charcuterie board
Start from the side opposite the handle, which is the one facing the guest. The cured meats are folded and laid in a row, the cheeses are cut first and placed in the centre, the jar of chutney or honey goes near the handle, where it is out of the way. The 1.5cm thickness keeps the board flat on the table even when loaded.
How many to order
A charcuterie board for two stays on a table for twenty or thirty minutes, then has to be washed and dried. The count is done on the tables for two in the early evening, plus a reserve for the second round. Bought together, they are all the same size and the same wood.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item. The discount applies automatically in the basket.
Care of the wood
Wash the wood by hand, in lukewarm water with a little washing-up liquid, and dry it straight away with a cloth. It does not go in the dishwasher and is not left to soak in the sink: hot water and a long cycle make it swell and warp.
When the surface turns pale and feels dry, wipe on a thin coat of food-safe oil with a cloth, let it soak in and remove the excess. It takes a few minutes and belongs in the end-of-month clean.
Choose this if
You have a mixed board for two on the menu and want a charcuterie board that reaches the table in one hand. For the single portion there is the 29 x 14cm size, for the table of four the 45 x 22cm. The other models are in the boards and knives category.
FAQ
How long is the surface of the charcuterie board without the handle? 27.5cm, on an overall length of 35cm.
Is it dishwasher safe? No. Wood is washed by hand and dried straight away, then hung up.
Can you cut on it? It is a solid wood board and takes a salami knife. The cut marks stay, as on any wooden board: those who want it unmarked for service cut in the kitchen and arrange afterwards.
Does it need oiling? Now and then, yes: a thin coat of food-safe oil when the wood turns pale and dry.
