The Destiny shaker in two lines
The Destiny is the Chrono parisienne in the hand-engraved line: 550ml, two pieces in satin 18/10 stainless steel, 22.5cm tall, 220g, with a 0.8mm wall. The design is registered as a European Union design under number 015106521-0003.
Who it is for
For bartenders who work in view and want a shaker that holds up to a close look. The symbols are engraved by hand on the satin steel, one shaker at a time, and on the tapered Chrono body the pattern reads in full: it is one continuous surface, with no steps to break it.
0.8mm, and why it is a choice
The thin wall does two things at once. It keeps the weight at 220g, so the wrist does not tire over a long shift, which on a tool picked up fifty times a night is the figure you feel most. And it keeps the seal precise, because a thin rim stays springy and returns to shape instead of deforming: the seal of a parisienne depends entirely on the band of contact between body and cap. The Destiny sits on the side of lightness, the opposite of cobblers in 1.2mm steel, which go for rigidity.

The registration number is not a detail
A design registered with the European Union is legal protection on the shape and the pattern, and for the buyer it means something concrete: what you are buying is not a copy of something else, and that can be checked. Few bar equipment suppliers state the number, and it is worth noting when one does.
A parisienne does not strain
Unlike the cobbler it is made of two pieces only and has no built-in strainer: you need one, or the ice goes into the glass with the drink. A hawthorne strainer for the first strain and a fine strainer for clear drinks. On a well-kept station it is worth choosing them from the same engraved line, so the kit reads as a set rather than a collection of odds and ends.
How to hold it
The body narrows towards the neck and brings the grip naturally to mid-height, where the hand has the most contact. 550ml is the single-drink size: plenty of ice and liquid well below the rim, so it stays under a kilo even when full and a one-handed shake stays precise to the end of the shift.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
Care
The engraved lines have no outer plating to protect, so washing is less delicate than on coloured models. Dry by hand all the same, so the engraving stays free of limescale, which is far harder to lift from the lines than from a smooth wall.
How to open it without marking it
The cap holds by friction over a wide band, not by an angled fit like two tins: it opens with a twist of a few degrees, not with a strike. On the Destiny this matters twice over, because a knock from a tool would leave a dent exactly where the engraving shows most. That soft move is what this family was made for, and it is also why the parisienne is used on the floor and the Boston behind the bar.
