The speed bottle in two lines
This is the 1 litre speed bottle with a vented pourer: the container that holds juices and premixes during service, 35cm tall with a 10cm base, in seven colours.
Who it is for
For bartenders who pour fresh juice or prepared bases dozens of times a night. A glass bottle with a cap has to be opened, poured and closed again; a speed bottle stays open at the station and pours with one hand, which in the middle of service is the whole difference.
The vent hole, the part that matters
The pourer has a second small hole next to the spout, and it is not a moulding fault. As liquid leaves, the pressure inside the bottle drops: with no way for air to get in, the flow stops and starts, so the pour comes out in gulps and cannot be timed. The vent lets air in while liquid comes out, so the flow stays steady from the first millilitre to the last. That is why you can count the pour in seconds, as you do with spirits.

Smooth walls, and why they are a hygiene point
The body is straight, with no sharp corners inside. In a container with inside corners, sugary residue settles exactly there, where the sponge cannot reach and water runs past without touching: that is where the film starts that later shows in the drink. With straight walls a bottle brush reaches everywhere in one pass, and on a container holding fresh juice that is a matter of food safety as much as convenience.
Seven colours, and how they are really used
As a code. At a station with four or five speed bottles in a row, colour is the fastest way to grab the right one: red is always grapefruit, green always lime, and the hand learns the position before the eye reads the label. On a bar with several people working, the gain doubles, because the code works for someone who started their shift ten minutes ago. You still need a label with contents and date: colour does not replace it.
The cap, and stacking in the fridge
The cap fits into the recessed base of the bottle above, so the bottles stack instead of taking up two shelves. Use it every time the bottle leaves the station: an open pourer lets air in all night, and citrus juice left like that for eight hours has already changed by service. The seal is airtight, so a closed bottle can also lie on its side.
Care
Take it fully apart at the end of service: pourer, cap, and the body with a bottle brush. Soak the pourer in hot water, because the narrow part of the spout is where syrup collects, and a partly blocked spout changes the flow without anyone noticing. Dry upside down and reassemble dry.
