Who the bar shelf mat is for
For bars that break glasses putting them down, not washing them. These are square natural rubber tiles, 33 x 33cm, that lock together, and they go where glasses stand still: shelves, racks, back bar surfaces.
Behind the bar
Most glasses are not lost in the washer: they are lost when set down carelessly on a hard shelf at the end of service. A layer of rubber just over a centimetre thick absorbs that knock, and within a year the difference in breakages shows on the delivery notes.
The interlocking system solves the opposite problem to a single mat: shelves are not all the same size. You put tiles side by side until the space is covered, and for irregular corners you cut one with scissors instead of leaving part of the shelf bare.

This or a bar mat
A bar mat sits on the bar top, where you work and where the liquid falls. This one sits where glasses rest, and protects them and the shelf. They are two different needs, and most venues need both.
Care
Dishwasher safe. The tiles come apart and wash one at a time, which is the practical advantage of interlocking: if one gets dirty, you do not have to strip the whole shelf.
