The slotted bar mat in two lines
The Lumian slotted bar mat is a stainless steel bar mat in two parts: a drip tray below and a slotted grid on top. The steel is 2mm thick. It is 10.5cm wide and 2cm tall, in three lengths: 30cm with a 1 litre tray and 1kg in weight, 60cm with 2 litres and 2kg, 90cm with 3 litres and 3kg.
Who it is for
For bars where the bar top sees shaking, straining and pouring all night. Every drink leaves something behind: foam over the edge of the tin, the last drop from the strainer, a glass filled to the brim. On a rubber mat the liquid stays on the surface, and halfway through the rush the base of every glass is wet. On the slotted bar mat the liquid runs through the slots into the tray, and the glass on top stays dry.
At home it is the bar mat for the drinks cabinet or the kitchen island, for anyone making drinks for friends who does not want a wet worktop at the end of the evening.

How a slotted bar mat works
The slots are long and narrow, set crosswise: liquid drops through straight away, and the base of a tumbler or a tin set down at an angle does not catch between them. Below, the tray holds one litre for every 30cm of length. At close you lift the grid, empty the tray into the sink and the bar top is clean in one move, rather than wiping down a rubber mat.
The 2mm steel is what counts over time. The grid does not bend under a full mixing glass or buckle from tins set down hard, and the weight, 1kg per 30cm, keeps the bar mat in place on the bar top even when a shaker is laid on its side.

Which length
The 30cm fits under a single bartender’s working area: mixing glass, one tin and the serving glass. The 60cm is the bar top with two glasses waiting while the third is made. The 90cm covers the whole front of a station, from the mixing glass to the speed rail, or two bartenders side by side. Measure the free space before ordering, leaving room for the chopping board and the ice well.
The slotted bar mat next to the others
The same Lumian bar mat comes with a grid of round holes instead of slots: the perforated Lumian bar mat, in the same three lengths. If you prefer rubber, which follows a bar top that is not perfectly flat, there is the 60 x 20cm Lumian rubber bar mat. The others are in the bar mat category.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
Care
Empty the tray at close, before sugar from the drinks dries on the bottom. Wash grid and tray separately in hot water with a mild detergent and dry with a cloth. Better kept out of the dishwasher: hot water and a mild detergent are enough.
