The copper champagne coupe in two lines
The Artemide is a Lumian stemmed coupe in stainless steel with a copper finish. It holds 230ml, stands 14cm tall, the bowl measures 10.5cm across and it weighs 221g. The shape is the classic champagne coupe: wide, shallow bowl, thin stem, round foot.
Who it is for
For cocktail bars, speakeasies and hotel bars serving drinks up, without ice in the glass: the Daiquiri, the Clover Club, sours with foam, sparkling wine cocktails. Lumian lists it for hotels, speakeasies and pubs. Metal changes the serve at one precise point: a thin glass coupe is the first to break at the sink and on the bar top, and a broken glass near the ice well means burning the well, emptying it and filling it again. A steel coupe does not chip.
It also works away from the bar: terraces, poolside, catering and events where glass is banned or travels badly. The coupe reaches the table in the same colour as a copper mule mug, and holds a drinks list together.
At home it is the coupe for a Sunday Daiquiri and for sparkling wine at celebrations, with a practical advantage: it has no thin crystal rim to crack at the first knock in the sink.

How a copper champagne coupe works
With drinks served without ice, the glass holds the temperature. Before service, put the coupe in the freezer or fill it with ice and water while the drink is made, then empty it and strain in. The movement is the same as with glass. The difference is in the hand: 221g with the weight low, in the foot, and a stem held between the fingers without warming the bowl.
230ml is the right size for a drink shaken and strained with a finger’s space below the rim. The wide mouth lets the drink breathe and shows off the foam of a sour, and at 10.5cm across there is room for a garnish laid on top or a twist on the rim.

How many copper coupes you need
Metal coupes are bought for the drink that uses them, not for the whole list. The practical sum is for a full evening: how many coupes leave the bar in an hour, plus those at the sink and those in the freezer waiting. For a drinks list with two or three cocktails served in the copper coupe, six or eight cover the evening without stopping.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
The copper coupe next to the other coupes
In glass, for high volumes washed in a glass washer, there is the 240ml Opera champagne coupe in packs of six. For a decorated coupe there is the 270ml Tattoo. All the coupes are in the coupe glass category.
Care
Warm water and a mild detergent, with a soft sponge to keep the finish even. The manufacturer does not declare it dishwasher safe, so we recommend hand washing, not least to keep the copper the same colour across the whole set. Dry straight away with a cloth to keep the metal bright.
