The Opera 350ml in two lines
A tall decorated crystal glass, 150mm high, in packs of six. Three hundred and fifty millilitres is the exact point where the highball ends and the collins begins, and it is why this size is the most common one behind a bar.
Who it is for
For anyone who wants one tall glass for the whole service. If the list has both two-ingredient drinks and more complex builds, keeping two formats means doubling the breakages that split your kit and the space on the shelf. A borderline size covers both acceptably, which in real work is worth more than two glasses each cut to one drink.
Where this size falls exactly
The highball runs from 240 to 350ml and takes one spirit plus a mixer. The collins starts at 300 and reaches 410, and it is the format for drinks with more components and more ice. The overlap between 300 and 350 is real and recognised: most bar glasses on the market sit there, and the two names get used as synonyms for that very reason. The Opera 350ml is at the top of the highball and at the foot of the collins, so it specialises in neither and works on both.

Take the Opera 350ml if
You want a single format covering the whole long drink section. If instead you have a signature drink built very long, with plenty of soda and ice to the rim, it pays to put a 440 or 480ml alongside it so the liquid stops short of the edge.
The pattern and reading the drink
On a tall glass the decoration is judged differently than on a short one. The column is long and the contents show along the whole height: a restrained pattern lets you read the layering of a built drink, while a deep cut breaks it up. On the Opera the pattern stays contained, so the colour follows from base to rim, which on a garnished gin and tonic counts for more than it sounds.
The practical advantage of a single format
Keeping one tall glass instead of two is not laziness, it is management. Every extra model means one more stock line to watch, one more space on the shelf and one more chance of running short on exactly that drink. A borderline format covers eight tenths of the list perfectly acceptably, and for the remaining fifth you add a second model at leisure, once you know which recipes really ask for it.
Care
Dishwasher without trouble. On tall glasses the risk is not the pattern, it is the rack: loaded too close together they knock and chip at the rim. A rinse before the cycle is only needed after working with thick syrups, which set into the relief.
FAQ
Is the Opera 350ml a highball or a collins? It sits exactly on the border: 350ml is the ceiling of the highball and the floor of the collins, so it works as both.
Does it work for a spritz? Yes, although a spritz often goes out in a goblet. In a tall tumbler it holds the carbonation better.
How many glasses in the pack? Six, the format that kits out one station.
Is it enough for a mojito? It is at the limit: it fits, but with mint and plenty of ice you work close to the rim. For muddled drinks a 390 or 440ml is more comfortable.
What pattern does it carry? A contained pattern on the wall, meant not to break up the reading of the drink along the column.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
