The 20ml white sauce pots
The white Friendly sauce pot is the smallest piece in the APS range: 20ml capacity, 6cm in diameter, 2.5cm high. It is post-consumer recycled PET, it stacks and it goes in the dishwasher. It is sold in a pack of 6.
The problem they solve
Sauce served without a container of its own ends up in one of three places: on the edge of the plate, where it runs into everything else; in the sachet, which the guest tears open with their teeth; in the squeeze bottle left on the table, which nobody measures. A 20ml pot gives the sauce a portion and a place.
For the bar with a quick food menu (toasties, club sandwiches, fried food, sharing boards) it is the difference between sauce that is counted and sauce that is guessed. Twenty millilitres a portion, multiplied by a week of covers, is a number the operator can set against the jars bought.

What 20ml sauce pots hold
As a guide to use, not a figure from the manufacturer: one portion of mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup or barbecue sauce; wasabi, or honey beside a cheese; oil for a bruschetta. It is not the size for olives or nuts. For those the range has the 50ml bowls.
The pot is low, 2.5cm, and that matters to anyone dipping: the chip or the breadstick reaches the bottom without the pot being tilted. On a club sandwich plate it takes up 6cm, so it sits in the corner without covering the side.

Recycled PET on a working floor
For the Friendly collection APS declares post-consumer recycled PET: plastic recovered after a first use and made into tableware, and recyclable again at the end of its life. What counts for the person carrying plates is that it is rigid plastic, not porcelain and not glass. A pot that slips off a tray between tables is picked up and sent back to the wash, with no fragments to hunt for under the chairs and no pause for the broom.
It shows at the end of the month too. Small porcelain is the tableware that disappears fastest: it chips in the rack and leaves in the bag with the napkins. A PET pot costs less to replace, and Friendly is a continuing range in the APS catalogue, so in eight months the same shape is reordered under the same code.
Care
The manufacturer declares the pots dishwasher safe and not suitable for the microwave. They are not for heating: a warm sauce is heated elsewhere and poured in afterwards. Between washes they nest one inside the other, also as declared, and a stack on the back bar occupies the footprint of one pot.
How many you need
The sauce pots are sold in packs of six and the price is for the pack. A venue offering two sauces per plate uses two pots per cover: thirty covers at lunch means ten packs in use, and the dishwasher returns them between one sitting and the next.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item. The discount applies automatically in the basket.
The white pot and the black one
On white, every sauce is recognised by its colour: yellow, red, brown. It is the choice for venues serving on white plates that want the pot to look like part of the plate. The black version has the same measurements and is often used alongside, one sauce per colour. The trays for bar garnishes are in the garnish trays and condiment holders category.
At home
For burger night or a cheese board, the white pots put one sauce per person on the table and keep the open jars in the kitchen. Six pots, six places, and after dinner they go in the dishwasher stacked in the cutlery basket.
