The vacuum wine stoppers in two lines
BarUp vacuum wine stoppers are a pair of extra stoppers for the vacuum pump: 40mm in diameter, 40mm high, with an ABS body and TPE where it meets the neck. Each has a release button that lets air in so the stopper comes out without forcing. They fit all 75cl and 1 litre wine bottles.
Who they are for
For anyone who already has the BarUp wine saver pump and more open bottles than stoppers. There is one pump, and the stoppers stay in the bottles: with six wines by the glass you need six stoppers, the pair that comes with the pump plus two pairs like this one. They are also the spare for the stopper that goes in the bin with the empty bottle, which sooner or later happens.

One stopper per bottle: counting vacuum wine stoppers
The pump creates the vacuum, but the stopper holds it. That is why the pump is bought once and the stoppers are counted against open bottles. The yardstick is the close of a normal night: if four bottles are still open you need four stoppers, and one or two spares are worth having, because a stopper lost at the end of the shift means a bottle that oxidises.
The stoppers are universal on a standard neck, so it makes no difference whether the bottle is 75cl or a litre, white or red. The maker declares them for still and semi-sparkling wine.

Why they stay out of the dishwasher
The seal comes from the TPE skirt, a soft rubber that moulds to the neck. Dishwasher heat hardens it and after a few cycles the stopper lets air back in without it showing. Rinse them in warm water at the end of the night and leave them to dry: ten seconds per stopper.
At home, on the vermouth
Anyone who makes cocktails at home and keeps vermouth open has the same problem as the bar, on a smaller scale: vermouth is a wine, and left open in the cupboard it loses its nose in two weeks. One stopper on the sweet and one on the dry, with the pump, keep them in the fridge for weeks, and the Negroni does not change from one Saturday to the next. That is why two extra stoppers are useful outside the bar too.
Choose the vacuum wine stoppers if
If you have the BarUp pump and are short of stoppers for the bottles that stay open. If you do not have the pump yet, start with the complete wine saver, which already includes two. If the problem is sparkling wine, these stoppers do not hold pressure: for bubbles you need the clip-on stopper.
