Who it is for
For bartenders who want a warm finish that does not throw light back like gold and does not show every mark like black. These are the seven core tools of the Lumian line, in bronze-plated stainless steel.
Behind the bar
Bronze is the most practical of the four coloured platings, and the reason is not romantic: fingerprints and water marks show less. In a service where you pick up the same wet tools dozens of times, it decides whether the cloth comes out now and then or all the time.
The contents are the same as the other Easy Kits and cover the two core techniques: mixing glass and strainer for stirred drinks, Boston shaker and half tin for shaken ones, jigger and bar spoon for the rest. Seven tools, no duplicates.
Specifications of each tool
- Shinto mixing glass: 700ml, glass
- Kenko Boston shaker and half tin: 18 and 13cm, 325 and 250g, stainless steel
- Hoffmann bar spoon: 30cm, stainless steel
- Strainer: 20cm, 150g
- Japanese jigger: 25/50ml, internal markings at 15, 25 and 45ml, 11cm tall
- Bottle opener: stainless steel
The jigger is for cocktail specs. It is not a stamped measure for single spirits.
Bronze or copper
Copper is redder and changes with use, darkening where the hand holds it. Bronze starts darker and stays more stable. If you like tools that age in view, choose copper; if you want them to look the same in two years, choose bronze.
Care
Hand wash with mild soap, never in the dishwasher, and no abrasive sponges. Dry the glass mixing glass straight away so it stays free of water marks.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
