The Timeless 300ml in two lines

Where the cocktail glass ends
Above 300ml the type of drink changes, not just the quantity. A 490 or 530ml glass exists for long aperitifs, where ice fills half the glass and the liquid is diluted by nature; a 300ml glass exists for concentrated drinks, where there is little or no ice and every millilitre counts. Serve a spritz in a 300ml glass and it comes out short; serve a drink up in a 500ml one and it sits at the bottom. Two different jobs, and this glass sits right on the line.

300ml of crushed ice
This is the capacity at which a cobbler comes out as it should. The crushed ice is packed up into a dome above the rim, the fruit sits on top and the straw goes down to the bottom: below 250ml the move does not work, because the ice reaches the rim before there is enough liquid. The general rule of ice applies: a larger mass warms more slowly and gives off less water, so a full cobbler holds, and one with little crushed ice goes watery.
Why the big size is not always better
It is the temptation of anyone buying glassware for the first time: take the largest size, thinking it will do for everything. It does not work that way. A Timeless 300ml holding a 120ml drink served up is a glass two-thirds empty, and the guest reads it as a mean serve even when the measure is right. Buy it for the drinks that fill it, the ones with crushed ice.
Care
Dishwasher safe with no special precautions. The deep cuts rinse clean, but after muddled fruit rinse straight away, because pulp drying on glass is more stubborn than sugar. Load with space around each glass, as with all stemware.
