The rocks glass 200ml in two lines
The Granity is a 200ml rocks glass in glass, stackable, in a pack of six. It is the short format in the category: the size for a spirit served over ice and for the short drink, where what you want is not volume but stability and quick turnover.
Who it is for
For a bar with volume and little space behind the counter. A stackable rocks glass is a service tool before it is a presentation glass: you buy it because it takes up little room, washes fast and costs little to replace. In a venue serving laced coffees, amari and spirits on ice, this is the line that turns over more than any other.
Two hundred millilitres, and how they get filled
It is the size in which a spirit with two cubes sits comfortably without looking lost. The general rule about ice applies: filling well dilutes less, because a larger cold mass warms more slowly and gives up less water than two cubes swimming in a half empty glass. On a short format like this the margin is small, and the choice is between generous ice and a generous measure. Anyone serving amari and liqueurs at room temperature does not have the problem, and they are the natural audience for this size.

Take the Granity if
If you need a short service glass and space counts. For classics built on a single large cube you want double old fashioned glasses, which start at 300ml and have a completely different ratio between liquid and ice.
Why stacking changes the bar
You feel it in two places, and both are measurable. On the back bar shelf, where a stack uses height instead of surface and lets you keep twice as many glasses on the same shelf; and in the glass washer basket, where a stackable load puts more pieces through each cycle. On a tight station that means fewer trips to the store room during service, which at peak is time gained where it is needed.
Plain glass as a cost decision
On a glass that turns over this much, breakage is a line in the accounts rather than an accident. A plain model with no decoration costs little, is always in stock and does not tie your service to a look that may not exist in two years. It is the opposite reasoning to the one you apply to signature glassware, and it is worth keeping the two sets apart.
Care
Glass washer with no precautions. Stack them dry: two glasses put together while still wet hold water between the walls, and that trapped damp leaves marks you then have to take off by hand, one at a time. Keep the stacks low, because the weight rests on the rim of the glass at the bottom.
Six pieces and the turnover
A pack of six covers a station, not a whole service. On a glass that moves like this one the count is made on the peak: if twenty amari go out in the busiest hour and the wash cycle takes twenty minutes, six Granity run out before the machine has finished. Anyone working on volume keeps two or three packs in rotation.
FAQ
Does the Granity really stack without jamming? It is made to stack. As with every stackable glass, put them away dry so damp does not make them cling.
Is it right for an Old Fashioned? It is tight: classics built on a large cube want 300ml and up.
How many cubes fit? Two or three standard ones, with the measure.
Is it suitable for outdoor service? It is glass: where glass is not allowed you need the unbreakable models in the same category.
How many pieces are in the pack? Six, the format that fits out one station.
Does it stack with the other sizes? With models in the same line yes. Across different lines it is not guaranteed.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 pieces -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
