Curved bar tongs 30cm in two lines

What the bent tip changes
Straight tongs work well on the board, less so inside a tall glass. To set a mint leaf on the crushed ice of a julep, or a twist on the rim of a collins, the wrist has to turn and the elbow goes up. With the bent tip the hand stays still and the grip reaches the spot, inside the glass, without moving the ice.
Why tongs and not fingers
The garnish is the last thing the bartender touches before the drink reaches the guest, and it is touched in front of them. Fingers leave marks on the frosted glass and carry into the drink the smell of the citrus cut a minute earlier. With tongs the garnish reaches the glass without contact.
The second reason is precision. A cherry at the bottom of a narrow coupe, a leaf resting on crushed ice, a twist that has to stay on the rim: fingers miss the spot or move the ice. Long, light tongs keep the hand out of the glass.
At home they are the tool that makes the drink look like it came from a bar: the cherry placed, not dropped.

Where they live on the bar
Next to the fruit station, with the board and the knife, in a glass with a finger of water or on a folded napkin. Tongs left in sight tell the guest that the garnish is not touched by hand. In bars with more than one station it is worth having a pair per bartender, so nobody looks for them when the room is full.
