The Melodia Nick & Nora glass in two lines
The Melodia 140ml is the Nick & Nora from RCR’s Melodia line: a stemmed glass with a tulip bowl, 140ml, 16.6cm tall and 7cm across the rim, in Luxion glass with the leaf and ray cut and a worked knop on the stem. It is dishwasher safe. The pack holds six glasses, the unit in which the supplier sells it.
Who it is for
For the cocktail bar that serves its house creations without ice and wants the small, closed glass that contemporary mixing has brought back to the centre of the bar. It also suits liqueurs and spirits served neat. For the venue that already has the Melodia coupe or Martini glass, it completes the line with the smallest size.
At home it is the glass for a digestif and for the evening cocktail, when a small measure is enough.

Why a Nick & Nora: the shape of the Melodia 140ml
A Nick & Nora bowl is deeper than a cocktail coupe and narrows towards the rim. Two practical consequences at the bar: the drink does not slop over when the server walks between tables, and the aromas stay concentrated instead of dispersing as they do in a wide coupe. 140ml takes an 80-90ml stirred cocktail with the margin to carry it without spilling.
The Melodia 140ml is the right size for high-strength drinks, where the measure is small and a large glass would make it look short.

Six glasses and the Melodia line
RCR sells the Melodia 140ml in packs of six, and so do we. A bar that puts the Nick & Nora on its list keeps two or three packs, so a chilled round is always ready.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
The same line includes the 160ml cocktail coupe, the 210ml stemmed glass, the 340ml old fashioned and the 360ml tumbler: the same cut from the bar to the floor. The line is a continuous range, so a broken glass is replaced with the same one.
Luxion glass
Luxion is RCR’s patented glass: clear, brilliant, it rings when tapped, it is recyclable, and it goes through the dishwasher without clouding. Load the glass tilted in the rack and dry it straight away with a microfibre cloth, holding it by the bowl and not by the stem.
How to serve in the Melodia 140ml
Chill the glass in the fridge before service. Stir the drink over ice, strain it, or fine strain it, and send it to the table without bulky garnishes: a twist expressed over the top and then discarded is enough. Hold the Melodia 140ml by the stem.
