The Spritz 490ml glass in two lines
The Spritz is a 490ml stemmed glass in lead-free Luxion crystal from the Timeless line, in packs of 6. The name states what it is for, and the capacity is worked out on the recipe the name refers to.
Who it is for
For bars doing volume at aperitivo time that want a dedicated glass. Where the spritz goes out dozens of times in the same hour, a glass set to the recipe speeds up service: the bartender pours by eye and gets it right more often, because the correct level is always the same point on the bowl.
490ml and the proportions of a spritz
The classic recipe works on three parts prosecco, two parts bitter and one part soda, with plenty of ice and a slice of orange. Allowing for ice filling about half the glass, the actual liquid is around 200 to 250ml, which in 490ml of capacity leaves the right margin below the rim for the garnish and for carrying. In a smaller glass you end up cutting the ice, and a spritz with little ice warms up and goes flat before it is half drunk.

Choose the Spritz 490ml if
The spritz is a big part of your service and you want a dedicated glass. For short cocktails served in a stemmed glass, sizes between 160ml and 300ml keep them cold and do not make them look small.
Ice, which is half the drink
In a long aperitivo the ice is not an extra: it holds the drink together from first sip to last. It goes in before the liquid and in quantity, up to the top of the glass, because a larger cold mass warms more slowly and gives off less water than four cubes floating about. Worrying about giving too little liquid is the classic mistake of inexperienced service, and it has the opposite effect: a spritz with little ice arrives watery and lukewarm, and the guest reads it as a badly made drink, not a generous one.
The dedicated glass and the speed of service
Where the spritz goes out in waves, a glass set to the recipe saves seconds on every drink: the bartender pours by eye and the right level is always the same point on the bowl. Multiplied by thirty drinks at peak time, those seconds become minutes. That is why the Spritz 490ml exists as its own line item rather than a generic size.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
Care
Dishwasher safe without clouding, as stated by the maker. On the aperitivo shift, when glasses come back by the dozen, a quick rinse before loading the machine clears the orange film the bitter leaves on the bowl and gives a clean result from the cycle.
FAQ
Why is the Spritz glass so large? Because ice fills about half of it: the actual liquid is around 200 to 250ml.
How much ice goes in? Up to the top of the glass, before the liquid: less ice means a drink that waters down sooner.
Is it part of a line? Yes, the Timeless line, which covers several sizes in the same glass.
Does it work for an Americano? Yes, and for bitter aperitivi topped with soda.
Is it right for wine? No, it is an aperitivo glass: wine needs a bowl designed for aeration.
Can it be served without ice? Technically yes, but a spritz without ice warms up and goes flat at once.
How many are in a pack? Six. For a busy aperitivo shift, keep at least two packs.
The other sizes are compared in the stemmed cocktail glass guide.
