The Minerva bartender kit in two lines
The Minerva Lumian bartender kit is the ten piece set with the Atena roll up bag: a 550ml Chrono parisienne shaker, a 28cm bar spoon with muddler end, a 25cm Efesto muddler, a Poseidon ice pick, a 30/60ml Japanese jigger, a Kairos hawthorne strainer, an Ermes julep strainer, a bottle opener and twelve metal pourers. It weighs 3kg closed and comes in five finishes: silver, gold, copper, bronze and black.
Who it is for
For anyone working away from their own bar: the bartender for hire, anyone doing events and catering, anyone teaching who carries the station in a bag. The roll up opens on the table with the tools in their pockets, so the mise en place lasts as long as it takes to unroll it. It is also the kit for anyone opening a venue who wants a set consistent in finish, bought in one go instead of one piece at a time.
Ten pieces, and what they cover
The 550ml parisienne is the two piece shaker that closes without a knock and opens without force: it covers everything shaken, from the daiquiri to the sour. The Kairos is the hawthorne for straining from the shaker, the Ermes the julep for straining from the mixing glass. The 30/60ml Japanese jigger measures the recipe the same on every shift, the bar spoon with the muddler end serves stirred drinks and muddled garnishes, the 25cm Efesto handles real muddled drinks, mojito and caipirinha. The Poseidon ice pick opens the ice, and the twelve pourers dress a whole speed rail.

What is missing, and worth knowing first
The mixing glass. The Minerva kit has the julep strainer, which is the filter for stirred drinks, but the vessel to stir in is not there: anyone with Negroni, Manhattan and Martini on the list buys one separately, or stirs in the serving glass. There is no cobbler either, the shaker with the built-in filter: you always strain with the hawthorne, which is in the kit. There are no garnish tongs.
Silver or plated: the choice that changes the care
The silver finish is bare stainless steel: dishwasher with no second thought, scratches that do not show. Gold, copper, bronze and black are plated, and plating is washed by hand with hot water and mild soap, dried straight away and kept out of the machine, or it loses colour where it rubs. Anyone working six nights a week takes silver; anyone working in front of the guest who wants the station coordinated takes the colour and accepts the extra care. In every finish the Efesto stays silver.
The roll up on the event table
A rigid bag opens and then you hunt for the piece; the Minerva roll up unrolls and the pieces are already in line, in the order you put them. For anyone setting up a mobile bar that is the minute between the start of service and the first drink. Closed it weighs 3kg with everything inside, about the same as a litre and a half bottle in its box.
Care
Rinse the pieces straight after service, before syrups and citrus dry, and dry them before they go back into the pockets: a roll up closed on a wet tool holds the damp against the metal. Clean the bag with a damp cloth. The jigger and the bar spoon go into the pockets dry even in silver, so they do not mark the fabric.
Choose the Minerva kit if
You need a complete station to carry, consistent in finish, with the two piece shaker and both strainers. If you are after a set for a fixed bar, with no bag, the same category has the Lumian kits of five, seven and eight pieces.
FAQ

Is there a mixing glass? No. There is the julep strainer for straining from a mixing glass, but the vessel has to be bought separately.

Is the muddler coloured like the rest? No, the Efesto is silver in all five finishes, as Lumian states.
How much does the kit weigh closed? 3kg with every piece inside.
Are the twelve pourers the same? They are a set of metal pourers in the finish of the kit, to dress a whole speed rail.
