Who it is for
For bartenders who work away from their own bar and set up a station every time. It is a leather and canvas roll with nine tools from the Lumian range inside, and it closes by rolling up rather than zipping shut like a case.
Behind the bar
The roll format changes the way you work more than it seems. Opened on the bar top, it becomes the working surface: the tools stay in their elastic loops, in view and in the same order as always, and you reach for them without looking. A closed bag has to be emptied on arrival and repacked at the end, and every time something is missing.
The eight elastic loops hold the long pieces, and the shaker goes in its own zipped compartment, which is the part that really matters: it is the wet, bulky piece, and it would not fit in a loop. The canvas tool cover is what lets you roll everything up without the metal pieces touching in transit.
What is inside
- Shaking: Yokai Boston shaker tin and small tin, 28oz and 18oz
- Straining: hawthorne strainer, julep strainer
- Measuring: Japanese jigger 15/30ml, Japanese jigger 25/50ml
- Mixing: Hoffman bar spoon, Vintage muddler 35cm
- Also: stainless steel citrus squeezer, garnish tongs
- Bag: 8 elastic loops, zipped shaker compartment, canvas tool cover
- Finishes: gold, copper, black, silver, bronze
Choose this if
You do events, catering or consultancy and set up your station somewhere else. If you always work on the same bar, the tools are better off in a drawer and the bag is an extra cost.
Care
The plated tools are washed by hand, not in the dishwasher. Brush the canvas dry and wipe the leather parts with a slightly damp cloth. Put the tools away dry before rolling the bag up, so everything is ready for the next event.
