The Hobstar shot glass in two lines
The Hobstar is a 60ml shot glass, decorated with a geometric hobstar cut, in packs of twelve. It is the small version of a pattern that also appears on old fashioned glasses and tumblers in our range.
Who it is for
For bars that sell amari and liqueurs and want even the smallest glass to have character. It is the humblest item on the bar and also the one guests hold most often in an evening: giving an amaro a cut glass instead of an anonymous one changes how the product is perceived at almost no cost.
60ml, a deliberate choice
That is 20ml more than a 40ml pour, and the margin has a job. With an amaro served cold or over a cube, 40ml in a 40ml glass reaches the rim and cannot be carried; in a 60ml glass it stays below the rim, with room for the ice or for the movement of the tray. It is the format for bars that pour generously or serve amari ice-cold, when the liquid expands slightly.

Choose the Hobstar if
You sell amari and liqueurs and want a shot glass that gets noticed. For tasting serious spirits you need wider glasses that concentrate the aroma in the space above the liquid.
A cut on a small glass
On such a small format the pattern works differently from a large glass. There is little surface, so a clean geometric cut shows far more than dense engraving, which at this size would blur into nothing. The hobstar pattern, made of bold crossing lines, is designed to read even when small, which is why it works on a shot glass where other patterns would not.
Twelve glasses is the minimum
With shot glasses, a large pack is not abundance, it is the working quantity. They are the pieces that disappear most, between breakages, tables and distraction, and in a bar that sells a lot of amaro they go out by the dozen in an evening. Keep six and you run out halfway through service and serve the amari in something else, which on a list built around digestifs is a question of image.
The shot glass as part of the list
On a list of amari and digestifs the glass is as much part of the product as the bottle. Serving a craft amaro in an anonymous shot glass is the quickest way to make it look like the industrial one; the Hobstar costs a few cents more per glass and shifts the perception. For a bar that has built a selection of amari, it is a small investment with a visible return.
Care
Dishwasher safe. The geometric cut holds less residue than dense engraving, but with sweet liqueurs and syrupy amari a rinse before the cycle still helps. Put the glasses in a compartment rack if the machine has one, so they do not tip over and collect dirty water.
FAQ
Why 60ml and not 40ml? Because it leaves a margin below the rim for ice or for the movement of the tray.
What is a hobstar cut? A cut star motif from early twentieth-century glassware, here in a geometric version that reads even when small.
Why a pack of twelve? Because shot glasses are the pieces that disappear most: six will not last an evening.
Is it suitable for tasting? For a quick taste, yes. To assess a spirit you need a glass that concentrates the aroma.
Does it match the other Hobstar glasses? Yes, the same cut pattern on a different format.
Can you feel the cut in the hand? Yes, and that helps: it gives grip on a small glass.
Does it work for limoncello? Yes, and for any liqueur served cold in a short pour.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item.
