The Pulcinella tiki glass by RCR
This Pulcinella tiki glass is a tall 450ml glass with the Pulcinella mask in relief on the wall. It is an RCR Cristalleria Italiana glass from the Tiki line, inspired by the masks of the Italian carnival and made in Italy. It is sold in a pack of 4.
It measures 13.6cm in height and 7.6cm in diameter. It is a narrow, upright glass, the kind that stacks on the back bar and takes little room on the counter.
A Pulcinella tiki glass made to be stacked
RCR states that these glasses are durable and stackable. For a bar with little room behind the counter that is an operating detail: four Pulcinella tiki glasses stacked take the space of one, and the glass-washer rack loads faster.
The upright 450ml shape takes a long cocktail, though not as much as a cooler. It leaves the tiki drink at a size the seated guest can handle, and it holds the ice to the last sip.
What to serve in a Pulcinella tiki glass
RCR lists it for cocktails, juices and soft drinks, for table setting and for mixology. At the bar it suits long tiki drinks and fruit soft drinks, in a venue that does not want two different glasses for guests who drink and guests who do not.
At home, a pack of 4 serves two couples. The mask gives the table an Italian theme and does not force a Polynesian evening.
The table with two masks
The RCR Tiki line plays with the masks of the Italian carnival and puts them on a cocktail glass. Pulcinella has the long nose and the high forehead, the features anyone recognises. On a table set with four glasses, identical or paired with the Venezia, the mask becomes the theme of the evening.
For a bar that lives on aperitivo and foreign guests, the Pulcinella tiki glass tells the story of Italy without another word: the guest photographs it, shows it, and orders another.
What it saves in service
Stacking the glasses takes less space in the glass washer and on the back bar. The upright shape and the 7.6cm diameter fit in narrow baskets too. The load is prepared quickly and the wash starts fuller, with fewer cycles at the end of the night. That is the practical advantage of the Pulcinella tiki glass over a mug with a handle.
How many Pulcinella tiki glasses you need
A pack holds four glasses. With 16 tiki drinks in an hour and a wash every 40 minutes you need 12 glasses, which is 3 packs. For an event of 40 guests count 10 packs, with the masks mixed: Pulcinella and Venezia have the same size, so they stack and are served together.
The glass is an ongoing catalogue item from the distributor: the set can be completed with the same shape.
The more you buy, the less you pay: 4 packs -5%, 6 -7%, 8 -10%, on the same item. The discount applies automatically in the basket.
Pulcinella and Venezia
The line has two masks. Pulcinella is the Neapolitan mask, and the Venezia tiki glass recalls the carnival of Venice. The sizes are the same. In the tiki and mug category they sit with the other tiki shapes.
